Delivering remediation for DOC’s remote sites

As part of our Residential Healthy Homes Remediation work for DOC, Citycare Property has delivered several projects at remote locations, including offshore facilities at Kapiti Island, Rakiura / Stewart Island, and the Chatham Islands, as well as mainland locations such as Franz Josef and Abel Tasman National Park.

In delivering these works, we’ve managed challenges including a lack of local trade supply chains, limited access options, restricted accommodation for our work crews, narrow windows for work due to weather, and managing operations to ensure biosecurity compliance.

As a result of our experience, we’ve developed a range of solutions that include ‘knitting together’ trades teams from adjacent areas, developing transportation options – including those to manage biosecurity – finding accommodation solutions, and having a comprehensive approach to staging and logistics that accommodates all constraints.

Maintaining regular communication with the DOC regional operations teams has also been a consistent feature of our approach.

We are particularly proud of our track record of delivering these challenging projects on time and to budget, as well as of successfully achieving the objectives of each project.
