Citycare Property Recognised at 2023 Recreation Awards

The Recreation Conference / Ngā Rau Harakeke 2023 was held this week at the beautiful Pipitea Marae & Function Centre in Wellington. Citycare Property’s contribution to the Christchurch South Frame project was recognised, and our own Aaron Wright, GM of Strategic Growth, was among the speakers at the event.

Organised by Recreation Aotearoa, the 2023 New Zealand Recreation Awards celebrates the mahi of the recreation industry, and we would like to extend warm congratulations to the councils and organisations who are doing award-winning work around the country.

Citycare Property, received merit in the Outstanding Project category for our work in the South Frame green laneways in partnership with Rau Paenga. This anchor project helped contribute to the revitalisation of Ōtautahi Christchurch’s earthquake damaged CBD.

Aaron Wright, GM, Strategic Growth for Citycare Property presented a talk entitled From Flax Waste to Re-Building an Industry: The Future of Harakeke in Recreation Spaces. This presentation explored the cooperation between recreation and industry to plant and utilise natural fibres.
